Ongoing God of Hope events:

Prayer gathering - First Tuesday of each month, 7pm, First Evangelical Free Church prayer chapel, 4220 Monterey Oaks Blvd., Austin, TX (map). Remember to let us know your requests and praises, as well as those of inmates who are willing to share them.

Upcoming TDCJ volunteer training:

Training to become a TDCJ "approved" volunteer
This is training required by the state of Texas to serve as an approved volunteer in Texas prisons. (Don't confuse this with training offered by The God of Hope Ministries for equipping our volunteers.)

Whether this is your first training, or you are an existing volunteer attending retraining, contact Scherry Taylor at the God of Hope office regarding details, such training dates and locations, application procedure, etc.

New volunteers must bring their TDCJ training approval letter to be admitted to training. Existing volunteers going for re-training do not need written approval. However, all attendees should telephone the facility where they plan to attend in order to RSVP, confirm class times, and get any details specific to that location.

Semester 3E6 is now underway, but we welcome new volunteers at any time.

More female life coaches are needed to work one-on-one with inmates. This is an easy way to get started as a volunteer. Contact Linda Dueker, GoH women's director for information.
